Oh well…

Well, heh, looks like I was wrong about Elaine, she’s still with Ben, just saw them crossing the yard to Beaconside from the Octogen. Holding hands looking like good friends/lovers.

I think Julie’s single, but she just doesn’t do it for me. Oh well. So, now, I know no single females. Which on a hole sucks. Millie’s, visably single, but she’s not interested. So there goes that idea.

Guess that’s the end of my relationships at uni, heh. I’m not good at meeting people, females especially. I don’t go out, not sure I even enjoy going out.

I always have visions/dreams of me being married and having daughters (don’t ask me why daughters and not sons, I don’t know :). Not sure if that’s going to happen. Heh, I saw myself settling down with Millie to be honest, life’s never simple.

Living in a house with just males and males that don’t have girlfriends doesn’t help either. It’s not like you get a guys girlfriend coming around bringing her friends.

They’re all doing business and nursing anyway, not exactly our department. There arn’t many girls on the computing course. Kind of a bugger really.

Oh well, I guess I should wrap this up, there’s not much more to say. Just enjoying my Bagel with cream and bacon. So s’all good really.

Oh the up note my “Art of Programming” Volumes 1-3 arrived this morning, not that I’ve had a chance to check them out yet.

John Cowley seems happy enough with my FYP and has now submitted it for aproval by Martin Slade, we’ve agree’d to meet regularly at 14:00 on Mondays. I have to produce a Gnatt chart before our next meeting, so before then I need to sit down and look at the different methadologies.

Millie’s just arived so I’m gonna log off now, not sure I want her seeing this while I’m here. Heh. Hugs hun. :)

Oh well, that’ll play for now, see you later.

Peter.

Catch Up Time

Well everyone else has been playing catch up with their diaries, so I guess it’s time that I did the same.

I’m finaly back at university, no longer working for British Waterways. It’s nice to have some free time for myself once again, although it’s a shame I don’t have the grand a month coming in, but hey.

This year seems to be looking interesting, got some challenging modules, and of course, I have my final year project. Hell it’s been three years since I started, how time has flown.

I’ve chosen and thankfully now have a project tutor. I’ve chosen to do a “A Multithreaded Internet Relay Chat Network Control System” (framework), heh read, IRC services. I’ve managed to wangle John Cowley as my project tutor, he’s one of our universities leading minds on networks. Shame I didn’t think about a new server to server protocol instead, that would have been more his cup of tea.

I’m settled in the new university house, I’ve got a lot of people I know living close to me. Ironically enough including one of my commerical customers for alastria.net.

We also have a coffee machine *grin*, it does expresso, cappachino, etc. oh… and normal coffee. Oh the other new toy I have, finaly, is a decent laptop. It’s not got all the features that I had wanted, but it’s definalty going to do for my degree.

I’ve got it connected to the universities wired network, and the libraries wireless network. So s’all good, all I need to do now is get the WEP key so that I can use FreeBSD on the wireless net.

I’m starting to feel old, it’s wierd, I’m looking at people who are at least two years younger at university. Jon Brownhill has started his degree here, came accross him at ASDA the other night, living in the student halls. I should go pay him a visit.

My love life is screwed as per usual, heh, I’m not sure I’ve had a normal relationship since Gemma. Millie and I have spoken, and basically it’s not going to happen between us this year.

She says she doesn’t want anything complicated, but alas, my 5th sense is telling me otherwise. I’m pritty sure there are two guys who are interetested in her, and I’m sure she’s interested in one of them. But I’m not one of them, so it’s time to finaly get over her for good, something I’ve never really set out to do, I always hoped.

I guess it’ll give me a chance to meet some other girls, maybe even a fresher *grin*. I noticed today that Elaine and Julie (the twins from college) where back, Elaine and I said hi and smiled the usual awkward smile. So hey, you never know something might happen there if Ben’s out of the picture (for thoose who don’t know about Elaine, you need to read back three years in the diary).

Hell, I’ve been keeping a diary on and off for three years now, that’s fearable. Thankfully I’ve still got all the information from the old ones, god knows what process’ that data’s been through.

I’ve also taken up Geocaching (www.geocaching.com), with my GPS and exclusive software (*grin*) we’re having no problems finding the sites, just the actual cache’s now. heh.

Oh well, that’s pritty much me up to date now, not sure what else there is to say, maybe I’ll keep this updated this year. When ever I’m on the prowl it get’s written in, so ya never know :).

P.
